late January - January 28, 2010

Hey, Hey, The Atheneum gig was loads of fun...good crowd...and we did a bunch of new tunes. Well received, I'm happy to report. Chris played his (now famous) duel eggs on "Brand New Day" and Erik and I did a cool version of "Theresa"
Jim Harrington, the wonderful artist, came to the show and expressed interest in drawing or painting Erik and I for some album cover art work. Pretty cool eh??
After that show we went to The Muse and did a 40 minute power-set that was kickin..... my voice is still recovering. Good time
was had by all and we definetly raised some cash for those folks.
The record is coming along ...hoping to lay down a couple more tracks this saturday

Mid- January - January 16, 2010

Looks like the folks at The Dreamland Theatre organization are putting a benefit together for the people of Haiti. God knows they need help. They called us up and asked that we play even though we have an earlier show at the Atheneum. Hey, we'll be all warmed up !! C'mon down ad see the show.
Erik and I are working on the new record and it is just starting to take shape...... I'll keep you posted...

happy new year - January 3, 2010

Happy New Year to all...... The bad news is it's another cold blowing freezing weekend on Nantucket. A small price to pay considering it IS January. Anyway, the good news is that Erik Wendelken and have gotten off to a good start on our up-coming record. We started yesterday with Tom Stodart and we are psyched. Hope some of you can make it to our show on the 23rd. at the Atheneum on Nantucket Island. It's a really cool room to play ....... an honor.........

christmastime - December 20, 2009

Hi Folks,
Thanks for all the kind reviews you have been submitting to CD Baby and to itunes..... It really does help the overall cause. Erik and I have decided to start the next record after new years so we are working on the new stuff. More to come ...... Hope you all have great holidays........
thanks, chuck

early december 2009 - December 6, 2009

hi all, Rumor has it that most of the music distributors now have Wood & Steel. itunes, napster, rhapsody, and a host of other for the digital download. or is the easiest way to get the hard copy. This should have occurred months ago but computer glitches and the fact that Erik and I are not on the top ten list yet helped this drag on.
Am actually "off island" today playing with motorcycles and guitars.
HoHoHo, chuck

early november - November 9, 2009

hi, hi, Had a great warm fall day for the dreamland block party...
A good time was had by all. CC3 played for about an hour and fifteen and then the shingles (another nantucket band, who happen to have a wonderful female singer named Cary Hazelgrove) played for at least that long. It was a hell of a Halloween.
Things are slowing down a bit with the season but Erik and I are writing some new stuff.
CC3 will play this coming thursday nite at the rose and crown.........

October 15, 2009 - October 15, 2009

hey, Saturday looks like a complete wash out. Just got an email from the dreamland and they have re-scheduled for the 31 of October....... CC3 will see you there at 12:00 PM for the Block Party........thanks, chuck

early october - October 3, 2009

Gee, how unusual, It's saturday on nantucket and it's raining heavily and blowing 30 knots. Just another wonderful weekend on this little sand spit.
Erik and I were suppose to play at Nantucket Farmers Market, downtown, but that is a fair weather gig. And so is the happy hour show at the starlight scheduled for Saturdays at 5:00 PM. We shall see if it clears this afternoon.
October 17th promises to be a fun day. The Dreamland Theatre is having an afternoon block party at which CC3 will do a set, weather permitting.
catch ya later'

Late September - September 25, 2009

Yikes, September 25 all ready!! Had a blast with Aoife and Erik at the Boston Folk Festival. Those folks at UMASS Boston could not have treated us with more courtesy. The stage manager shorted us on time but what the !!! We played at the CoffeeHouse Stage and an old friend, Geoff Bartley was there as well. Geoff was presented with an award from Boston Area Coffee House Association ( BACHA ) . Pretty cool.

mid-august - August 15, 2009

Whoa.....just played a private party with Erik and I'm exhausted ........ big time ...... not because I'm old, but because I got bit by a tick a while back ....... Babesiosis, baby !!! Those little baaastards really pack a punch.
Anyway, I've all ready done the drugs and I just need to build
up some red blood cells ...... get some stamina back and I'll be playin "rocky top" in no time .... just kidding...
Hey see you all at the Boston Folk Festival...

August 1,2009 - August 2, 2009

Made it through the "OVBF" and what a great time it was.
CC 3 opened the show on Thursday night to be followed by the Toughcats If you haven't seen these guys, go catch them they are a blast....
This year Osippee had a venue they called the sound stage and they ask Erik and I to do some of our instrumental stuff on it. A bunch of people stopped by and all seemed to agree that what Erik and I do is definitely "folk/bluejazz"

Mid July + - July 19, 2009

It's the 19th all ready and summer just got going. It's definitely taken the warmer weather a while to arrive.
Hell, june bug are bombing around a month late.
Played the Starlight this afternoon and had a great crowd and a hell of a good time.
We'll all be heading for ossippee festival on Wednesday or Thursday........ Should be a lot of fun...
See you there ......

CC 3 in July - July 13, 2009

This past week Bill Staines was on island for some R & R and we got together for some informal picking. The man can sing a song!

CC 3 is gearing up for a fun time at Ossippee Bluegrass Festival. I have revisited and revived a song Erik wrote a few years back that never quite made the cut. It's called "Kansas" and it's a corker. I do believe it will make the set list this this time around. (thursday nite at ossipee)

early july 2009 - July 9, 2009

The "new band", Aoife and Erik and myself had a great weekend tour to Cafe Lena in Saratoga Springs ( and a wonderful concert at The Cape Cod Cultural Center. ( Thank you to all the people who came out to hear our stuff and thanks to all who made those gigs possible. Of course after we were cultured, we ended up at O'Shea's Olde Inne, where there was a host of fine musicians playing up a storm and they covinced Aoife to start singing and we played till the wee hours..... What a grand time.

The Chuck Colley Trio or CC 3 as it is sometimes refered too will be playing at the Starlight on Nantucket throughout the summer...Sundays .. late afternoons and a couple of special occasions.
